Your foot consists of 26 bones, 33 joints and more than a hundred muscles, tendons, and ligaments that all work together to bear your weight and allow you to move around. It’s an amazing structure that literally puts a spring in your step!
Unfortunately, when things go wrong the foot can become painful. Long days of work, gardening, shopping or just having to stand become challenging and the joy of moving around is replaced by frustration and dissatisfaction.
Fortunately, there is a solution to this issue that has been used successfully for many years. Orthotics are inserts that fit inside your shoe and help to realign your foot back towards its natural position. This improved alignment helps to reduce tissue fatigue and irritation. This in turn reduces your pain and allows you to move more freely. Foot orthotics can also be used to correct a gait abnormality.
We prescribe custom orthotics based on your specific needs. This is done by assessing how you stand, walk and move. From this assessment a clinical picture is formed. Your assessor will then be able to tell you which solutions will give you the best outcome. You can then decide on how to proceed.
Who will orthotics help?
Patients experiencing foot pain and/or dysfunction. Achilles tendon pain, flat feet, tibialis posterior tendon issues, metatarsalgia, stress fractures and plantar fasciitis respond well to orthotics. Some patients with knee, hip and back pain will improve with the use of orthotics.
If need be, your orthotic insoles will be accompanied by a physiotherapy program to give you the best possible results.

These orthotics are molded to the exact shape of your feet for maximum benefit and comfort. Because they are specifically made to fit the contours of your feet perfectly, they provide support exactly where it is needed. It is this exact fit that allows custom orthotics to provide the best alignment, function and relief.
Custom Orthotics Package: €400
This includes your initial assessment, taking molds of your feet, building of your custom orthotics, a follow up session and six months of corrections as required.
The Process
Initially, we will ask you some questions to ensure we know exactly what the issues are. We then use a dynamic functional assessment to get an accurate picture of your whole lower limb with particular emphasis on your feet. We then use specialist on-site equipment to get an exact match of your feet from which we can build your custom orthotics. Your orthotics will then be ready for collection within a couple of days as we have our own Custom Orthotics Laboratory which vastly improves turn around times.
And your care doesn’t stop there! We know that some people’s needs are very specific and that corrections will be required in some cases. In light of this, you will be seen again after an initial wearing in period to ensure that the orthotics are working well. If there is any issue it will be corrected free of charge. You are then entitled to as many corrections as you need within six months - free of charge. With a package like this we’re sure you’ll be satisfied with your orthotics and your overall care.
